Recent studies show that the adolescent brain goes through a period of remarkable neuroplasticity that is similar in impact to that of a child in the first few years of life, and that mindfulness training can be extremely beneficial in terms of creating positive mental habits that will impact lives for many years. Mindfulness helps adolescents focus their attention in the face of constant distraction, decrease their reactivity and rumination and feel happier and more connected. It can also lead to improved performance in school.
Really Mindful Group delivers trainings to students, teachers, staff and parents and to entire school communities at the high school, college and graduate school levels. The trainings are based on an understanding of the stages of development of the adolescent brain as well as what practices are most useful to different sets of participants.
Through highly interactive and engaging trainings that are custom tailored to the needs of each school constituent group, Sarah offers participants hands-on techniques that are easily integrated into real-life situations.
